About Us

SBI Group has been a family owned and operated business for three generations.

After originally specialising in sand and topsoil supplies, a quarrying licence was obtained for the Cranbourne site in the late 1980s and extracting the sedimentary rock that lay deep beneath the sand began soon after.

Since then, materials quarried at Cranbourne have been used for a number of largescale local projects including EastLink, Western Port Highway, the Mornington Peninsula Freeway and, more recently, the Mordialloc Freeway.

In early 2020, the landfill part of the business became fully operational with nonrecyclable building and construction waste filling the originally quarried hole.

SBI is committed to the prevetion of work-related injury and ill health of its staff, contractors and visitors within its working enviornment.

Once the landfill is completed, SBI Group has committed to rehabilitate the land for public use.
